You can use the Control + K shortcut to open the Global Search menú. From there you will just need to write Sales or Purchases and then use the new record shortcut (alt+n in sao) in order to create the new record. THis way you can achieve the action with just the keyboard.
If you prefer, you can also add the sales or purchases menu as favorites and open them from the icon in the global search menu. Once you opened the menu you can use the new record shortcut again.
Hope this helps!
Thank you. I’m already familiar with both of these.
But as “create a sale|purchase” happens so often (well, that’s what business is all about), my hope is that there is/could be a one-stroke solution.
Something like “Ctrl-alt s” / “Ctrl-alt p” for example, or a F# key.
I know there is an “accels” file for the GTK client, but how would I add such a feature there?

Normally you just need to open the Sales/Purchase tab once. After you opened the first time you can leave it open all the day and just switch to it to create a new one.
Having said that, you can add a custom field on the menu items to add some CODE and when entered on the global search the menu will pop up inmediatly. Maybe this will speedup the opening of the tab.
Note that if the tab is already openend on the client, the same shortcut will open the current tab and not create a new one.
What I do is that I open the most used Views automatically when I login.
This way I just click on the tab and I can Ctrl+N.
You can find this in Administration / Users / Users Under the actions tab.
Or you could use Bookmarks to bookmark the View.
Hey Dimitrios, that’s the best idea so far, so I get closest to my “one-keystroke-solution”. And I could set it up in a minute.
Great, thank you very much, you made my day.
Nevertheless…
A feature to link user actions with keyboard shortcuts would IMHO be a good thing to have.
Greetings,
EG
