Attachment preview does not show PDF documents in Windows client

I noticed the record attachment preview in Windows client 6.0 does not show the files when they are PDF. I checked that images (png, jpeg) are shown correctly.
Is this the expected behaviour in Windows? May I configure/install any application to preview PDFs?
