Hello Trytonies, I tried to use the trytond MT940 module to import bank statements. When doing so, I get the message “To import bank statement, a jounal for account [my-account-number] is required.” Under Menu > Financial > Configuration > Statements > Statement Journals I have an entry for this…

I exchanged the old bank identifiers by the IBAN - et voilá… Thank you both for your thoughts.
