I tried to use the trytond MT940 module to import bank statements. When doing so, I get the message “To import bank statement, a jounal for account [my-account-number] is required.”
Under
Menu > Financial > Configuration > Statements > Statement Journals
I have an entry for this account.
Do I need another journal - or what else could be wrong?

Yes, it is.
I installed the mt940 by today, my guess is that it should be included therefore.
Please check, we can not go forward with guessing.

The simplest way is to check if the source code contains the modification.
Otherwise this fix has been included in the version 7.2.0 according to the tags.

Is your statement from the Rabobank? Can you share the content of the line :25:?
No, it’s from a Hibiscus export.
Here is Line 25:

I think the question was about the line starting by :25: (or one of those lines).
Ah, I misunderstood. Here comes line #2:
‘ :25:[my-bank’s-identifier]/[my-accont-number]
“my-bank’s-identifier” is not BIC but BLZ, the older German bank identifier called “Bankleitzahl”.
How would be the expected identifier of my own bank?
It is difficult to understand with the data redacted because it is a space-based format.
But the content should be normally the account number but as the previous issue showed some bank put more information into it than expected.
Any way this content (as it is shown in the error message) should be the exact value of a number for the bank account.
I exchanged the old bank identifiers by the IBAN - et voilá… Thank you both for your thoughts.
