Marketing on Linkedin Tryton Group

I think that guidelines like outlined by the OSI link would be immensely useful to explain the allowed usage, but also help to prevent some misuse by to close affiliation between project and businesses.

Indeed I would like to hear an official statement of the Foundation what they think about the matter and how they plan to safeguard the project from misuse of tryton domains like e.g. Debian -- debian.community domain.

For me our current guideline is good enough.
I do not see the point to spend the few Foundation resources to have a lawyer writing something (which will need thousand of feed-back loops and time).

I do not see the need of a lawyer, but to my mind the discussion above shows the need for a “clearer” common “mindset”, and the OSI-paper is preetty good to start with … even with examples.

For me what is clear is that people did not see the Foundation statement about the trademark.
I do not see any question about the usage of the Tryton trademark in this topic. Only questions about the content that should be posted on social media from the official Tryton accounts. And I see a clear consensus that we do not want to have sponsoring posts for private companies outside the success stories and service providers pages.
