B2CK does not plan to actively maintain celery_tryton. We will review and apply submitted patches.
For us, the transactional queue solves our problem and is simpler to deploy and use. We know it has less features than Celery but that’s fine with the way we design applications.
For a standard Tryton setup, Redis is not really useful because it requires a network communication (just like for the SQL database) against a direct memory access. It may become if you plan to store a lot of pre-computed data in it.
