I tried to install tryton 2.4 client with trytond 5.0.0 on Ubuntu 16, I want to know if this version is compatible or not.

The version is not compatible, you should install a 5.* client version too in order to make it work https://downloads.tryton.org/5.0/).
Anyway, consider upgrading at least to 6.0 version which is the last long term support version.
