Suggestion for a "getting started" page

We’ve been discussing the “free mentoring” and the Service providers differentiation issue recently. I think we could resolve both issues quite easy with a slight modification: Let’s change “Get tryton” into “Getting started”. This page should contain all the resources which may be helpful when you’re interested in tryton and try to find out whether it is for you. It may contain:

  • link to docs
  • link to forum
  • link to download page
  • link to professional service providers
  • link to mentors
  • links to very basic support pages like “install in docker”, “install with PIP”, “first steps to set up your install”, “basic handling”
  • other essentials I forgot

This basic info is not easy to gather at the moment, and never forget: Only few people come with “I WANT TRYTON”, firmly engraved in their minds. Most are coming and want to know “Is tryton for me ?”

Cheers,
Wolf

For me you are describing the homepage which has all those links.

Sorry, I’m not really sure which page you’re talking about. Do you mean https://www.tryton.org/download ?

In case, the URL says what it is - a “download page”. It does not have:

  • link to docs
  • link to forum
  • link to professional service providers
  • link to mentors
  • links to very basic support pages like “install in docker”, “install with PIP”, “first steps to set up your install”, “basic handling”
  • other essentials I forgot

It’s easy to understand that you do not at all have any problems to find the ressources needed to begin with tryton. Mine were heavy ones… ):

No I mean the homepage: https://www.tryton.org/

This even has a “Start with tryton” button - which IMHO suggests that tryton.org is not the “Start with tryton” page. But the “Start with tryton” button does lead to the “download” page.

Anyway - I’m giving in here.
