Why is the product category of 5.0 associated with the account category, and what effect will this have on the system upgraded from 4.0?
I have not been included in the decisions, but with the 5.0 you will have to assign one category as accounting category with all its informations about taxes and accounts and you do not have the possibility to select these directly under the product template.
During the migration we could handle this, by doing a simple update on the database where category has been set to account_category.
Furthermore, you have the advantage to assign several categories to one product for creating a mesh of categories. For example, we use this mechanism within our webshop, to assign several products to different categories, e.g. tools are always included in the categories for the main products.
