before I dive into the documentation and official publications to try to make one, is there an account_lu module anywhere that I could use ?

No, we’ve never recevied a proposal to have a luxembourg accounting module.

If you want to try to make one you should look at this how to which explains all the required models to create one.

If you have some doubts feel free to post them here and we will be happy to resolve them.

I see that there is also work being done on an IFRS module (Panama Chart of Accounts), which the client might also be interested in, so now all he has to do is go ahead on his project and accept my services

If IFRS also aplies for luxembourg it will be great if you can check if the proposed accounts and types works for you. Of course, you will need to create your own taxes for your country.
