About arondies when price is divided into parts

I do not know how to proceed for a exact opération.

Imagine we have a product sailed by parts.
On part is 1/37 of the price the other is 12/37 and the last part is 24/37.
imagine the product is 123 €

so 1st part is 123/37 3.324324324324324 will be 3.32
2nd part is 12123/37 39.891891891891895 will be 39.89
3rd part is 123
24/37 79.78378378378379 will be 79.78

the sum is 122.99000000000001

the same with numbers instead of fraction. How do you solve this problem on your side ?

The price of a kit product is defined on the kit so there is no need to have components summing perfectly with the kit.

so what happens if you by the components separately ?

It does not matter when selling.
The sale price is not linked to the purchase price.

I am not talking about purchase price but selling price.

So I understand the you as the company, so it is for me a purchase.
It is important to use the same semantic as Tryton on this forum. So always name things from the company perspective.

You set a sale price for each component as you want them to be.

Indeed I do not understand your problem. You seem to complaint about mathematics that rational numbers can have infinite repeating decimals.

well

i am not complaining about that i was only asking how the others manage that, because i think that collective intelligence is better than my intelligence.
I take en example. under linux and the tool bc
the simple opération 1/3*3 makes 0.9999999…
in python interpreter it makes 1.

So someone would/could have sold the problem at “our” little level.
