During the last month we mainly focus on bug fixes, behaviour improvements of several things and speeding-up performance issues stepping forward to our next release 7.4 scheduled to the 4th of November. We also added some new features which we would like to introduce to you in this newsletter.

For an in depth overview of the [Tryton issues please take a look at our issue tracker](https://bugs.tryton.org/) or see the issues and merge requests [filtered by label](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/labels).

## Changes for the User

### Sales, Purchases and Projects

We [add a new sale reporting per promotion](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/6134f4fbc2f0a8a8a3884e78b39e891d569e88a8).

We add now a [relate from promotions to their sales](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/5621bdef22e753ffdfc2d34ce563de6b3c90a404).

We improved the exception handling wizards on sales and purchases. We added two fields to let the user [explicitly fill with the records to _ignore_ or to _re-create_](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/c789fbd00c6b75696d2648f824b7c0b8f60f7b1e).
Any cancelled record that is not added to one of the fields, will stay in exception state to be proceeded later. Also we changed the view between a `MultiSelection` to a `Many2Many` field depending on the number of records in the exception state.

Now, [Tryton doesn’t add _extra lines_ on sale orders for inactive products](https://bugs.tryton.org/13479). Also [Tryton does no longer _recommend_ inactive products](https://bugs.tryton.org/13477).

We [removed the _Menu: Parties → Parties → Parties Associated to Sales/Purchases_ entries](https://bugs.tryton.org/6935), because the result is not limited to sales or purchases in state _validated_ or _processing_. A _draft_, _quotation_ or _cancelled_ order doesn’t qualify a party as a customer or supplier. The functionality is already replaced by the reports in _Menu: Sales → Reporting → Sales, Sales per Customer_ and _Menu: Purchases → Reporting → Purchases, Purchases per Supplier_ which adds the ability to filter per _state_ and per _period_.

### Accounting, Invoicing and Payments

Now we re-launch the update of the payment customer for [Stripe](https://bugs.tryton.org/13468) and [Braintree](https://bugs.tryton.org/13469) in case it failed. Also the users can manually initiate the update process.

### Stock, Production and Shipments

Now we [round up weights and the other measurements to two decimals for the shipping carriers](https://foss.heptapod.net/tryton/tryton/-/issues/13494) DPD, Sendcloud and UPS.

We [make package measurements read-only once they are closed](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/fc403af6ace35c538c887861f2dd76e3a01ab551).

### User Interface

We remove the favourite management from the favourite menu, because of
several issues [[1]](https://bugs.tryton.org/13335) [[2]](https://bugs.tryton.org/13246) and duplicated functionality.

Now we [group links with a similar functional scope together](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/4018fc8e8cb2f20f8782e18c35324c747f402ce8).

In _Menu: Administration → User Interface_ the entries

- View Tree Widths,
- View Tree Optionals,
- View Tree States and
- View Searches

are [moved to the _Open related records_ toolbar-menu](https://bugs.tryton.org/12995) of _Menu: Administration → Models → Models_.

We improve the widget for `MultiSelection` fields in the Tryton clients by [adding checkboxes which _display_ the selection state](https://bugs.tryton.org/13458) of the row. If the users [clicks on a row](https://bugs.tryton.org/13457), the selection state [will be changed](https://bugs.tryton.org/13459).

Now we [visually remove records from `Many2Many` fields used in `Wizard` instead of greying them](https://bugs.tryton.org/13461) out.

We [keep the CSV export dialogue now opened after exporting](https://foss.heptapod.net/tryton/tryton/-/issues/13521), to have a better user experience when fixing bugs, export and again fixing bugs.

Since [we moved the functionality from `product_price_list_dates` to `product_price_list`, you can open price list lines in a new tab](https://foss.heptapod.net/tryton/tryton/-/merge_requests/1781) to be able to filtering, search or import import them.

## New Documentation or Naming

We improved and unified the _stock_ action naming and re-worked documentation:

- [Rename “Product Quantities By Warehouse” into “Stock Quantities By Warehouse.”](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/ac70032b49f5c8ec704c74e12bf435fdff7440ae)
- [Remove “Lots By Warehouse” relate as the same view can be opened from the stock location relate.](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/5416865cde2dbe1d695236edfdf9537f7d4e1619)
- [Rename prefix “Locations Quantity” to “Stock Locations”.](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/fdeb358b483bd26d0cbab54756e12d0dee83b14a)
- [Document viewing stock levels of lots.](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/2bec0b0c050be0a3e8f9deeed84c5de59574fbbf)
- [Rename “Products by Locations” into “Products”, as the locations are added to the tab name, there is no need to specify.](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/2d60fab1b385cab93a3d2e91f1c6ef1c2d6e7a34)

## New Releases

We released bug fixes for the currently maintained [long term support series](https://discuss.tryton.org/t/release-process/395)
[7.0](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commits/branch/7.0) and [6.0](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commits/branch/6.0), and for the penultimate series [7.2](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commits/branch/7.2).

## Security

Please update your systems to take care of a security related bug we found last month: [trytond allows to execute reports for records for which the user has no read access](https://discuss.tryton.org/t/security-release-for-issues-13505-and-13506/7846) and also for reports limited to a set of groups that the user is not member of.

## Changes for the System Administrator

Now we [use a random value for cron](https://bugs.tryton.org/13484)_next call_ field when no value is defined.

Now we [log the last cron scheduler runs and their durations](https://bugs.tryton.org/13445). A new cron task periodically cleans the log entries. The [new cron-section configuration variable](https://docs.tryton.org/latest/server/topics/configuration.html#clean-days) _clean\_days_ (default 30) sets this period.

## Changes for Implementers and Developers

The Tryton view-tests [now check for some more attributes](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/9b699176eb29c06cc632b0dbd4a000adae948b3b) like _sequence_ and _on\_write_ in tree-views or _dtstart_ and _dtend_ in calendar-views.

Now we [unify the term _“email”_](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/7ec36bcce69c7e720a88bd637c729757ca5c3c32), as it is now the [most common and recommended](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email#Terminology) form.

We [add to all _“cost”_-terms a _“sale”_-suffix in sale shipment cost fields](https://code.tryton.org/tryton/-/commit/79512f8cfed1f1210bc846ce36e561c8778dc18e) to improve the naming convention and to avoid collisions or misinterpretations.
