# Main server migration

We planned to migrate the main server of Tryton to a new host on March 26th 2021 at 19:00 CET.
This requires to shutdown the server in order to copy the full system to the new server.
We estimate that this transfer will take about 2 hours. But downloads and video data will be transferred later which is estimated to take 4 more hours.
The IP address of the new server will be different than the current one (we will communicate them once it is up). So in addition to the downtime there will be some delay due to DNS propagation, the perturbation should not last longer than 24h.

The new server is up and running.
You may need to wait for new DNS record to propagate. The new IP are `37.59.44.187` and `2001:41d0:8:67bb::1`.
The data for [https://downloads.tryton.org/](https://downloads.tryton.org/) and [https://videos.tryton.org/](https://videos.tryton.org/) are still being transferred (estimated to end on March 27th 2021 at 05:00 CET).

We still do not have the CDN working correctly for [www.tryton.org](http://www.tryton.org). It is disabled until it is solved.

The CDN is reactivated as it is working back. It seems that the TTL of the DNS record was 1 week. Now it has been reduced to 1 day to avoid such long delay in the future.
