# I created an Asset and configured all required fields, but the depreciation schedule/lines are not generated

I created an Asset and configured all required fields, but the depreciation **schedule/lines are not generated**. Tried all options I could find:

- Action menu items related to “Create Lines / Compute Lines / Recompute / Draft → Running”, etc.

- Switching tabs (Lines / Other Info) and saving again.

1. Result: **no depreciation lines are created** (Lines tab stays empty). No error message is shown in the UI. What could prevent Tryton from generating Asset depreciation lines?

You must click on “Create Lines” button or “Run” button.

Sure, I am clicking on “Create Lines” button, but nothing is happening.

This is because there is nothing to deprecate anymore as your setup says that the value is `100_000` and you already deprecated `97_000`. So `100_000 - 97_000 = 3_000` which is the residual value.

I overlooked it because under IFRS practice I’m used to thinking in terms of the formula: _cost − depreciable amount − residual (salvage) value_.
