# How does Lot work?

I am trying to comprehend Lot in stock and inventory, but i don’t know how this works? I tried several things, and it won’t change the quantity.

The lot does not change any quantity, it is to track specific instance of a product.

I read it and still did not understand, i tried to initialize some stock in my `Inventory & Stock / Moves`

But it still getting 0 on lot that i ve created

I do not know which module you have activated but there is no standard module which add a “Quantity” field to the form view of a lot because the quantity is not an absolute property of the lot but it is computed for some locations.  
You can find the computed quantities by opening the “Locations Tree Quantity” relate from the lot or by “Lots by Locations” from the location.
