# B-Tree index size limit with long translated text

Hi,

Tryton version: 8.0  
Database: PostgreSQL

When saving a longer translatable text, an HTML marketing email, PostgreSQL raises:

```auto
psycopg.errors.ProgramLimitExceeded:
index row size 2768 exceeds btree maximum 2704

```

The error occurs while writing the translated value to `ir_translation`.

Before assuming this is a bug, I would like to check whether I am missing a recommended configuration option or database/index setting for handling larger translated `Text` values.

Reproduction:

1. Use a field with `translate=True` in Marketing E-Mail.
2. Store a longer HTML/text value.
3. Save the record.
4. PostgreSQL rejects the write with the B-Tree index row size error.

Is this expected with the default Tryton 8.0 schema, or is there a configuration/migration step I may have missed?

It can be solved by [using a btree\_gin](https://foss.heptapod.net/tryton/tryton/-/work_items/12480) index which has no size limit but before going futher I will recomend reading this topic which contains all the relevant information:
